Live, Online Classes

As an online student, you will attend live, face-to-face classes on our videoconferencing technology. Each class is recorded and made available online so that you can review discussions at any time. Class sizes are kept small to encourage close collaboration and rich discussion between you and your peers. Faculty members are available for office hours outside of class.

Immersive Course Content

Course content is designed to be fully engaging, allowing you the flexibility to complete readings and assignments on your own time each week. Class instructional materials, discussion and assignments are enhanced by live sessions that provide real-time engagement and exchange of ideas with classmates and professors working in the field. Coursework can be accessed from anywhere through your computer or the mobile app.

In-Person Components

The curriculum includes two short in-person experiences to help you build hands-on skills and solidify your network of personal and professional connections. Throughout these experiences, you will meet your student colleagues, course faculty and USC staff; become familiar with program expectations; and work on real-world projects to help you translate theory into practice.

Dedicated Student Support

Cohort Coaching

Each incoming class of MPA online students is assigned a Cohort Coach, a program alumnus who will help you and your fellow students build your community. Your coach will also help you navigate your time management and work-life balance so you have the best chance for success in graduate school. Your Cohort Coach will be available throughout your master’s program to help you access to the Trojan network and other USC professional development opportunities

Career Services

Career support is offered throughout the program to ensure you’re on track to meet your goals. Our Career Services team provides a variety of support opportunities, including one-on-one career coaching, a library of career resources (interview guides, resume tips and video demos), information sessions, and networking events.

Technical and Academic Resources

Student support is available from the moment you request information about the program through graduation and beyond. This includes technical support to help you get acclimated to online learning as well as course planning, academic resources and orientation sessions.
